Restore Your Oral Function with Dentures in Ballwin, MO
I grew up with grandparents and I grew up with grandparents in the house, so when I became a dentist, I ended up doing dentures, and a lot of dentists don't like doing full dentures. It takes a certain amount of patience because dentures are also the person, and I can make a denture that's fully functional, but they don't feel good about the way they look, because I have complete control, unlike any other area of dentistry, complete control of their smile. We have a process that we call the Columbia Denture, that we do dentures, and what makes us different is one, we always try the teeth in wax in the mouth, so they get, I get, we get to check phonetics. The way they speak, we get to check the way they look. Look is not just the teeth, it's the facial profile and everything. We can change it in wax. Once it's processed in acrylic, then I have to redo the whole thing.
So we always try the teeth in wax. We take a functional impression. Most dentists take a static impression – one impression and one mold and it's done. We have the completed denture, and we put a material in there that acts like a wax, so it flows and they either sit or go home for a day or whatever, and it molds to where their tongue wants to put the edges, where the cheeks want to put the edges, where the pressure spot might be, so we prevent pressure sores. Then we process it a second time.
The other thing is if they come to us with teeth in their mouth or with an existing denture that they're happy with – let's say the teeth are worn but they're happy otherwise – we've got the greatest system, and in 20 minutes we can duplicate that with molds, the dentures, and we're not starting from scratch. We're not changing their bite out, which is big because their muscles are used to that. We're not changing necessarily the lip support or anything. Or we start with that and they say they just want a bit more. If they don't have anything, or the dentist doesn't duplicate the denture and go from there, what does a bit more mean? You're shooting in the dark. So, all those things we've developed, because I've enjoyed doing dentures and it's such a benefit to be able to give that, because so many people just put up with their denture instead of forget that it's just part of their mouth.

Combine Dentures with Dental Implants for Added Security
Conventional dentures stay in place with suction, and perhaps adhesive. This means they can sometimes become loose – or even dislodged – during activities like eating. Our dentists can attach your replacement teeth to dental implants for added security. Since implants are embedded in your jaw, your new teeth will stay securely in place without adhesive. You’ll be able to eat whatever you’d like, including foods like crunchy apples.
Not only that, but implants stimulate your jaw while chewing, in the same way that natural tooth roots do. This stimulation preserves your bone, so your jaw stays strong and healthy. Without bone loss, your replacement teeth won’t need periodic fit adjustments.
Our dentists use the latest techniques, designed to provide the best performance with the least impact on your jaw. For example, they can attach a full arch of replacement teeth to just four dental implants.
Choose Conventional Dentures If You’d Prefer
Dental implants aren’t for everyone. Conventional dentures won’t require a surgical implant placement procedure, and they are often more affordable. You can choose:
- Full Dentures – These replace complete arches of teeth in your upper and/or lower jaw. They are easy to remove for daily cleaning. Thanks to our superior technique for measurement, you’ll enjoy a comfortable fit.
- Partial Dentures – If you still have some teeth left, you may want to choose partial dentures. They attach to your natural teeth to fill in the spaces in your smile. Like full dentures, you can easily take them out for maintenance.
